Mongolia’s presidential Chief of Staff, Uilstuguldur Altankhuyag, welcomed Vietnam’s presidential office chairman Le Khanh Hai recently. This meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral ties between both nations’ presidential offices significantly. Hai currently visits Mongolia as part of ongoing diplomatic exchange efforts.
During discussions, Uilstuguldur expressed confidence that this visit would boost the countries’ comprehensive partnership further. Specifically, he highlighted opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two presidential offices directly. Additionally, he noted Mongolian horses previously serving Vietnam’s Mounted Police Force hold symbolic importance.
These horses will participate in World Horse Day, an event President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa initiated. Their involvement aims to showcase the genuine value underlying bilateral ties between both nations. Furthermore, both officials expressed satisfaction regarding steadily deepening political trust between their governments.
This trust stems partly from reciprocal state visits exchanged over recent years. President Khurelsukh visited Vietnam in 2023, followed by Vietnamese President To Lam’s Mongolia visit. That 2024 visit, made alongside his role as Communist Party General Secretary, reinforced diplomatic momentum.
Consequently, officials agreed that translating previous agreements into concrete results remains a shared priority. Both sides emphasized expanding cooperation between their respective presidential offices moving forward together. Moreover, they identified substantial potential for collaboration across investment, agriculture, transport and digital transition sectors.
Beyond economic cooperation, officials also discussed expanding cultural, sporting and tourism-related bilateral ties. These discussions reflect broader efforts to diversify cooperation beyond traditional diplomatic and economic channels. Ultimately, this meeting reinforces Mongolia and Vietnam’s commitment toward deepening their comprehensive partnership continuously.
Looking ahead, both nations appear positioned to expand collaboration across multiple sectors simultaneously. As bilateral ties continue strengthening, tangible outcomes from these discussions could emerge in coming months. This ongoing diplomatic engagement signals sustained mutual interest in deepening Mongolia-Vietnam relations long-term.
