Mainland China Rejects Taiwan Independence Calls

Date:

Mainland China rejects Taiwan independence in increasingly firm language, as tensions rise across the Taiwan Strait. At a seminar in Shanghai, Qiu Kaiming of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office affirmed Beijing’s stance. He stated that China will block separatist efforts and resist external interference. More than 160 scholars and figures from both sides attended the two-day event. They focused on modernization and the shared interests of both mainland and Taiwan residents.

Qiu highlighted that mainland China rejects Taiwan independence with growing resolve, citing confidence in national reunification. He linked today’s efforts to the past, referencing the 80th anniversary of Taiwan’s return after Japanese occupation. He described that victory as hard-won and emotionally significant. According to Qiu, national rejuvenation requires unity and zero tolerance for outside meddling. He urged Taiwan compatriots to join the pursuit of China’s shared future.

As discussions continued, participants addressed U.S. economic pressure, particularly through tariffs. Qiu assured that China can handle all challenges and has wide support for its countermeasures. He claimed that even people in Taiwan endorse these strong responses. Throughout the seminar, experts reiterated that mainland China rejects Taiwan independence in both word and policy. Many accused Taiwan’s current leadership of intensifying cross-Strait hostility.

They pointed directly at Lai Ching-te, Taiwan’s new leader, for escalating separation attempts. Experts said such actions undermine peace and the well-being of Taiwan’s citizens. Participants stressed the need for more dialogue and cooperation, not division. They called on people across the Strait to work toward national unity. The message was clear: mainland China rejects Taiwan independence and will act accordingly.
