eTreego Leads Taiwan’s Green Energy Revolution with Smart EV Charging Solutions

Date:

eTreego’s smart charging solutions is leading the electric vehicle (EV) charging revolution in Taiwan with its innovative “electronic trees.” These smart chargers are actively driving Taiwan’s green energy future one kilowatt at a time.

The company’s headquarters in Hsinchu’s Zhubei Township stands out with its futuristic design, featuring glowing fiber-optic lights and sleek EV chargers. eTreego refers to each charger as an “electronic green tree,” which symbolizes both energy transfer and Taiwan’s expanding low-carbon ecosystem.

Founded in 2017 with support from the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), eTreego specializes in EV control modules and smart charging systems. As a result, eTreego now accounts for more than half of Taiwan’s EV charging infrastructure, collaborating with notable automakers like Yulon, CMC, and Volvo.

Chien Chin-pin, eTreego’s founder, recognized the potential of electric vehicles early on. While working at ITRI, he developed energy control systems in the early 2000s. Later, as Taiwan’s EV registrations surged in 2017, Chien launched eTreego to address the growing infrastructure gap.

Chien envisions every charger as a green energy seed, laying the foundation for a sustainable, smart charging network across Taiwan. Consequently, eTreego’s smart charging solutions now cater to vehicles ranging from two- to eight-wheelers, focusing on ultra-fast charging and an enhanced user experience.

To improve efficiency and safety, eTreego formed a strategic partnership with Hotai Group and Shihlin Electric. Together, they established Gochabar, a company dedicated to managing software and operations.

Gochabar leverages AI-driven systems to monitor energy usage, forecast demand, and integrate with virtual power plants. As a result, EV chargers are now being installed in malls, hotels, and convenience stores, transforming them into urban landmarks.

Furthermore, the company taps into carbon markets by converting EV usage data into verifiable carbon credits. By partnering with universities and asset managers, and earning certification from global standard-setter Verra, Gochabar opens new revenue streams. This initiative also supports Taiwan’s ambitious net-zero emissions goals.

Ultimately, eTreego’s smart charging solutions are making a significant contribution to Taiwan’s green future. Their innovations are helping shape both the economy and the environment in meaningful ways.
