Gold Pig Brings Korean BBQ Fever to Taipei

Date:

Taiwanese food lovers are catching Korean BBQ fever as Gold Pig officially opens its doors in Taipei.

Originally from Seoul, this famous restaurant launched its first overseas branch on May 13. Since then, excitement has exploded.

For years, Gold Pig has ruled Seoul’s BBQ scene. Notably, it received the Michelin Bib Gourmand for seven consecutive years.

In fact, K-pop icons like BTS, IU, and GD frequent the original spot. Even David Beckham has dined there.

Naturally, this celebrity following has boosted the brand’s global appeal. Therefore, its expansion into Taipei comes as no surprise.

On opening day, crowds filled the Zhongshan District. Moreover, some fans even camped overnight to secure a table.

Meanwhile, online reservations—available only to Cathay United Bank cardholders—sold out within minutes.

Unlike many BBQ spots, Gold Pig’s staff grills each cut directly at the table. As a result, quality stays consistent.

Additionally, all grilling staff received training from experts in Korea. Thus, each guest enjoys an elevated dining experience.

To maintain quality, Gold Pig partnered with Taiwan’s Juo Hao Pork. This ensures the same pig breed used in Korea.

Specifically, signature items include aged bone-in pork belly, frost-marbled pork, and juicy pork collar. All cuts are expertly aged.

Furthermore, attention to detail doesn’t stop at the meat. Many condiments and side dishes arrive straight from Korea.

Even the kimchi, sauces, and soup bases follow traditional recipes. Therefore, the taste remains authentic across locations.

Visually, the Taipei restaurant mirrors the stylish Seoul flagship. Bright tones and greenery define the contemporary design.

On the first floor, diners can see the transparent butchering and meat-aging room. Upstairs, the space features VIP rooms.

Because the Seoul location often requires two-hour waits, Taipei residents now have easier access to this dining gem.

Unquestionably, Korean BBQ fever has landed in Taiwan. The Gold Pig brand continues to ignite excitement and long lines.

With authentic flavors, elite training, and celebrity charm, this new hotspot proves Korean BBQ fever is just getting started.
