Mongolian Civil Aviation Honored with Red Banner for Labor Valor

Date:

Mongolia marked a major milestone with the 100th anniversary of its Air Force. At the same time, the country honored the Mongolian Civil Aviation sector with one of its highest awards.

During the ceremony, Minister of Road and Transport Delgersaikhan Borkhuu delivered the opening remarks. First, he praised aviation’s role in national development. Then, he spoke about how air transport had boosted international cooperation.

Shortly after, Zandanshatar Gombojav, Chief of Staff to the President, took the stage. He delivered President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa’s message. In it, the President praised the Mongolian Civil Aviation Authority and announced the May 21, 2025 Presidential Decree.

As a result, the Civil Aviation Authority received the prestigious Order of the Red Banner of Labor Valor. Gombojav officially conferred the decoration on behalf of the President.

Meanwhile, speakers reviewed the long journey of Mongolian aviation. They looked back at early achievements and forward to future goals. In addition, they highlighted recent successes in route expansion and global partnerships.

Furthermore, the event included the presentation of state medals and titles. These went to individuals who made notable contributions to Mongolia’s aviation and transport sectors.

Mongolia’s journey in aviation began in 1925. That year, a Yu-13 cargo aircraft landed at Konsulyn Denj in Ulaanbaatar. This landing marked the official birth of the Mongolian Air Force.

Over time, the country expanded its role in global aviation. In 1989, Mongolia joined the Convention on International Civil Aviation. Consequently, it built ties with China, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, and Japan.

By 2024, Mongolia had signed air service agreements with 48 countries. Moreover, it opened 11 new routes and connected to 60 cities in 22 countries. Clearly, this growth has positioned Mongolian Civil Aviation as a regional leader.

Today, the aviation sector continues to transform. With strategic investments and dedicated personnel, the industry shows no signs of slowing down.

In conclusion, the Red Banner of Labor Valor reflects a century of progress. Even more importantly, it inspires the continued growth of Mongolian Civil Aviation in the decades ahead.
