Mongolia’s Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav held a virtual meeting with the country’s top diplomats. He reminded diplomats to pursue peace-loving, open, and multi-pillar foreign relations consistently. Additionally, he stressed the importance of balanced ties with Mongolia’s two neighbors, Russia and China, and also with third neighbors. The Premier also outlined the government’s plan for strategic restructuring. He said the government aims to enhance policy implementation, improve accountability, and streamline institutions. The goal is not only cost-cutting but also creating an efficient and continuous government operation.
In addition to boosting foreign investment, the Prime Minister focused on strengthening exports and addressing the trade deficit. He called for a comprehensive approach to overcoming socio-economic difficulties through a favorable foreign environment. This approach, he said, will help Mongolia secure its sovereignty and national interests. Furthermore, the Prime Minister stressed unity in foreign policy. He ordered all diplomatic missions and government bodies to strictly follow Mongolia’s legislation and policy guidelines. Cabinet members must also consult the Foreign Ministry before any international engagements.
During the meeting, ambassadors to Russia and China provided updates on bilateral relations. They shared current challenges and received specific instructions on future diplomatic efforts. Prime Minister Zandanshatar pledged close attention to diplomats’ proposals to ensure effective results.
