CPC Membership Growth Tops 100 Million in 2024

Date:

CPC membership growth continues to rise steadily as the Communist Party of China approaches its 104th anniversary. A new report released Monday outlines major increases in both individual members and grassroots units. According to the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Party had 100.27 million members by the end of 2024. This figure represents an increase of nearly 1.09 million compared to 2023. Therefore, the data shows the Party’s continued success in attracting new talent from across various sectors.

Furthermore, the CPC strengthened its grassroots presence. By the end of 2024, it operated 5.25 million primary-level organizations. This marks an increase of 74,000 over the previous year. These groups are active in villages, factories, public institutions, and urban neighborhoods.

In addition, the CPC has improved its local operations. Many of these units now align more closely with regional needs. Consequently, they provide better services and promote local governance more effectively. Meanwhile, interest from young people and skilled professionals continues to grow. Many university students and workplace employees have applied to join. Because of this interest, recruitment programs have become more targeted and more widespread.

Moreover, Party leaders see CPC membership growth as essential for national development. A larger membership base strengthens communication and ensures smoother policy implementation. It also helps build stronger unity across diverse communities. To support this expansion, the CPC now uses more digital tools. Mobile apps, online training platforms, and virtual meetings have improved internal communication. As a result, local branches operate more efficiently and keep members better informed.

As the 104th anniversary approaches, officials highlight these trends as proof of public support. They say the numbers reflect trust in the Party’s leadership and its future direction. Notably, CPC membership growth plays a key role in broader national goals. It supports innovation, rural development, and long-term economic stability. Overall, each new member and local unit strengthens the country’s ability to meet future challenges.
