Jeremy Lin Leads New Taipei Kings to Historic TPBL Title

Date:

Jeremy Lin leads New Taipei Kings to their first Taiwan Professional Basketball League (TPBL) championship. On Sunday, Lin dominated in Game 7, helping the Kings defeat the Kaohsiung FamilyMart Aquas 108–89. Right from the start, Jeremy Lin leads New Taipei Kings with a strong 21-7 run. Lin scored 10 points in the first quarter. This helped the Kings build an early 35–18 lead. Meanwhile, the Aquas struggled. Their key players, Hu Long-mao and Su Wen-Ju, both picked up three fouls quickly. This slowed their momentum.

Furthermore, the Kings received solid support from Austin Daye, who scored 10 points in the second quarter. By halftime, the Kings led by 23 points. The Aquas tried to fight back in the third quarter. Kaleb Wesson and Craig Sword combined for 16 points, narrowing the gap to 13 points. However, Jeremy Lin leads New Taipei Kings again as he hit a timely three-pointer. This shot stopped the Aquas’ momentum. In addition to Lin’s effort, Kenny Manigault, Jason Washburn, and Joseph Lin, Jeremy’s younger brother, also contributed key points.

The Kings then opened the fourth quarter with a 13-0 run. This run secured their lead and the game. Jeremy Lin finished as the top scorer with 27 points. He also added five rebounds, four assists, and four blocks. Because of his outstanding play, Lin earned the Finals MVP award. He had already won the regular season MVP earlier this month. Notably, the Lin brothers had won a title with the Kings last year in a different league.

After moving to the new TPBL this season, they finished with the best regular-season record. Many expected them to win, and they delivered on those expectations. Overall, Jeremy Lin leads New Taipei Kings in a historic championship run. His leadership and skill brought the Kings their first TPBL title. This win marks a milestone for both the team and the league.
