K-pop Demon Hunters Soundtrack Hits Billboard Top 10

Date:

The K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack has made a powerful entry into the global music scene. In fact, it debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated July 5, marking a major milestone for animated movie soundtracks in 2025.

Notably, the K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack is the first movie album this year to break into the Billboard 200’s top 10. It is also the highest-debuting soundtrack of 2025 so far. Billboard announced the ranking on Monday, confirming the album’s breakout success.

The Billboard 200 ranks albums using several factors. These include physical sales, streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and track equivalent albums (TEA). Specifically, these measures turn digital plays and downloads into album units. During the tracking week, the album earned 27,000 SEA units, 3,000 physical sales, and 1,000 TEA units.

Moreover, the soundtrack includes music from the film’s fictional K-pop girl group Huntrix. Key tracks include “Take Down,” “Golden,” and “Your Idol.” In addition, the film’s rival group, Saja Boys, also contributed with “Soda Pop.”

These songs have found major success on streaming platforms. For example, on Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart for June 28, “Golden” reached No. 7. “Your Idol” followed closely at No. 11. Meanwhile, on Spotify’s US Daily Top Songs chart, “Your Idol” climbed to No. 6, and “Golden” ranked No. 8.

As a result, fans across the world are streaming the songs in huge numbers. This strong streaming performance helped push the soundtrack up the Billboard charts.

Netflix released the animated film earlier this summer. It combines supernatural action with the world of K-pop. Impressively, the movie’s fictional idols fight demons by night and perform on stage by day.

As the K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack continues to climb, many expect more records to fall. Furthermore, with Spotify numbers growing daily, the album may rise even higher in the coming weeks.

Ultimately, industry watchers say this success shows how K-pop and animation can build global momentum. For now, Huntrix and the K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack are hitting all the right notes.
