China’s innovation drive is gaining momentum as Vice Premier Liu Guozhong urges faster scientific and technological progress in key sectors. During his recent three-day visit to Guangdong province, Liu emphasized the need to push forward with breakthroughs in both agriculture and healthcare. In agriculture, Liu called for a sharp focus on critical areas such as the seed industry, advanced farming equipment, forage quality, and modern breeding technologies. He urged local officials and institutions to accelerate the transition from research to practical application, especially in rural areas. To succeed, he said, China must strengthen the integration of industry, academia, research, and real-world application, ensuring that breakthroughs move from labs into hospitals and clinics as quickly as possible.
