TWS Japan Debut Tops Oricon with 150K Sales

Date:

TWS Japan debut is off to a record-breaking start as the boy band soared to the top of Oricon’s Weekly Single Ranking. Their debut Japanese single, “Nice to See You Again,” sold approximately 150,000 copies in its first week.

This achievement marks the highest first-week sales by an international artist in Japan this year. Moreover, TWS became the first non-Japanese act in 2024 to top the prestigious chart.

The new release also hit No. 1 on the Daily Single Ranking when it launched last week. TWS has quickly established a strong fanbase in Japan, showing significant momentum just months after its Korean debut.

This success follows the group’s earlier milestone in Korea. Their first single, “Plot Twist,” gained attention with its lead track “First Hooky,” and later with follow-up “Last Bell.” Now, “Nice to See You Again” has taken their popularity to a new level in Japan.

TWS Japan debut sets the stage for their first official tour in the country. The tour will kick off in Hiroshima on July 11 and will continue across five additional cities. In total, the band will perform 13 shows, bringing their music to fans nationwide.

However, not all members will be able to participate fully. Member Youngjae recently sustained a toe injury and will need to limit his appearances during performances. Management confirmed he will still attend shows, though his movements may be restricted.

Despite the setback, anticipation remains high for the group’s tour. Fans in Japan are eager to see the group perform their chart-topping songs live.

TWS Japan debut demonstrates the group’s growing global reach. Their ability to break into the Japanese market with such strong numbers signals their rising star power in the K-pop scene.

With their tour on the horizon and chart success already secured, TWS is poised to become one of the most influential new acts in Asia this year.
