China-Egypt Cooperation Expands Through Trade and Diplomacy

China-Egypt cooperation continues to grow as Chinese Premier Li Qiang visited Egypt for official talks on Wednesday. He met with Speaker Hanafy Ali Gebaly of the Egyptian House of Representatives to strengthen bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Premier Li highlighted the need to improve trade and investment between China and Egypt. He stressed the importance of aligning industries and improving market access for both sides. Li explained that although China and Egypt are far apart geographically, their historical friendship remains strong. Over the years, the relationship has grown steadily, showing consistent momentum despite global changes.

China plans to further deepen political trust with Egypt. Li expressed support for Egypt’s key concerns and said both countries should support each other’s core interests. He urged more communication between legislative bodies to share governance experiences and build mutual understanding. Li emphasized development alignment between the two nations. He called for stronger cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. He also mentioned the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as key platforms.

Premier Li encouraged joint work on major infrastructure and industrial projects. He also pointed to future growth in areas like digital economy and green development. These emerging sectors offer new chances for mutual benefit. China wants to ensure smooth operation of existing joint projects. Li pushed for policies that support fair trade and investment. He said China and Egypt must expand their cooperation to achieve long-term win-win results.

On global issues, China and Egypt will continue to cooperate in organizations like the United Nations, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Li said both countries should defend multilateral trade rules and promote world peace and stability. Speaker Gebaly praised China’s progress under President Xi Jinping. He said Egypt strongly supports the one-China principle and opposes foreign interference in China’s affairs.

Gebaly welcomed deeper engagement with China through trade and clean energy projects. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to global cooperation and development. China-Egypt cooperation is now at a critical point. As the two nations deepen their ties, they set a strong example of how mutual respect and collaboration can drive shared success.
