China green agriculture efforts continue to bring strong results, steadily improving rural life, sustainability, and eco-friendly practices. A new report outlines major gains in land use, waste reduction, and clean energy.
To begin with, China’s national green development index climbed to 78.23. This increase signals strong advancement in sustainable farming and environmental protection. As a result, the country’s eco-friendly agricultural initiatives are improving both crop production and village life.
Ye Yujiang, vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, pointed to visible upgrades in rural villages. For example, over 76 percent of rural homes now use sanitary toilets. Additionally, more than 90 percent of villages receive regular garbage pickup. These outcomes reflect the practical success of China green agriculture efforts.
Furthermore, 45 percent of rural communities now benefit from wastewater treatment systems. In northern areas, families replaced coal use with clean energy, cutting 160 million tons of carbon emissions. Meanwhile, rural households installed 120 gigawatts of solar power, reaching over 5.5 million homes. This shift added 11 billion yuan in income for farmers.
Moreover, farmers and local officials built or upgraded 5.33 million hectares of top-grade farmland. At the same time, they installed modern irrigation on more than 1 million hectares. These changes support food security and reflect how China green agriculture efforts also protect natural resources.
Agricultural pollution also keeps falling. For nine years in a row, fertilizer use declined. Likewise, pesticide use dropped for eight years straight. Today, over 90 percent of farmland uses precise fertilization. In crops like rice, wheat, and corn, efficiency rates reached 42.6 percent.
In addition, livestock waste now supports greener fields. Farmers reuse 80 percent of animal waste, with over 30 percent replacing chemical fertilizers. These improvements reduce chemical runoff and strengthen the goals of China green agriculture efforts.
Modern tools also play a growing role. Currently, over 75 percent of planting and harvesting uses smart machines. These tools help increase speed, cut waste, and raise yields in every region.
Finally, Sun Haoqin, a leader in sustainable farming, praised the latest report. He said it combines research, real-world results, and new directions. Overall, the report confirms the power and promise of China green agriculture efforts in today’s changing world.
