China Defends Chinese Enterprises from EU Sanctions Pressure

Date:

China has once again defended the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises after new sanctions from the European Union. Officials made this statement in response to EU measures involving multiple Chinese banks and companies.

During a press conference in Beijing, a foreign ministry spokesperson spoke about rising concerns over economic interference. He emphasized that China firmly defends the lawful interests of its domestic businesses. He also urged the EU to end actions that lack both legal basis and global approval.

Moreover, China clearly opposes unilateral sanctions not backed by the UN Security Council. According to the spokesperson, such moves directly harm the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises and damage global trade norms. He added that businesses should not suffer from politically motivated restrictions.

In regard to the Ukraine situation, China continues to promote peace and negotiation. Officials also emphasized that China has not sent any lethal weapons to either side. At the same time, strict controls remain in place for dual-use exports.

Despite this, EU sanctions continue to target companies engaged in legal and open business operations. China firmly believes that trade between Chinese and Russian enterprises should not be politicized. Normal cooperation, they argue, supports economic stability and protects the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises.

Furthermore, the spokesperson warned that these sanctions would harm trust between China and the European Union. China urged the EU to act responsibly and avoid worsening tensions. If necessary, China will take action to defend the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises through proper legal channels.

Officials also stated that economic relations should be based on fairness, not unilateral pressure. They emphasized that protecting Chinese companies from unlawful actions is part of national responsibility.

In addition, China encouraged all countries to maintain open markets and avoid interfering with global supply chains. The government said it will continue to watch the situation and take steps to protect its companies.

Ultimately, safeguarding the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises is a key pillar of China’s foreign economic policy. This commitment will guide China’s response in the face of external pressure.
