ITRI Drives Chip Innovation with Rise-A Partnership

Date:

Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has recently joined the Rise-A semiconductor platform to significantly drive chip innovation forward. This partnership not only strengthens the collaboration between Taiwan and Japan in the semiconductor sector but also marks a shared commitment to accelerating chip innovation globally. On Tuesday, ITRI officially became a founding member of Rise-A, a platform launched by Japan’s Mitsui Fudosan Group.

Moreover, the chip innovation initiative aims to foster close cooperation among startups, research institutes, and established companies. ITRI Executive Vice President Hu Chu-sheng emphasized how the alliance will enhance collaboration and promote the development of advanced semiconductor technologies. He further explained that ITRI plans to leverage its expertise in advanced packaging and heterogeneous integration to deepen cooperation with Japanese equipment and materials suppliers.

In addition, Mitsui Fudosan President Toshio Ueda described Rise-A as the group’s latest industrial development project. He pointed out that Rise-A follows their previous platforms: Link-J for life sciences and Cross-U for aerospace. Furthermore, Ueda added that Rise-A will unite government, academia, and industry in a shared space designed to boost chip innovation.

Recruitment for Rise-A members began last week, signaling a strong push to create a vibrant community of innovators. To further support collaboration, the group plans to open an innovation hub in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district by October. This hub will provide a dedicated space where companies and research institutions can partner on groundbreaking semiconductor projects.

Importantly, this partnership brings together Taiwan’s semiconductor strengths with Japan’s industrial development expertise. Consequently, the shared goal is to accelerate chip innovation through combined resources and knowledge. This effort aims not only to enhance technology but also to build a stronger global semiconductor ecosystem.

In conclusion, Taiwan’s ITRI joining Rise-A marks a significant step in advancing chip innovation. As a result, the initiative will foster greater collaboration and accelerate progress in semiconductor technologies. Finally, once the innovation hub opens, it will serve as a dynamic environment supporting continued breakthroughs in chip design and manufacturing.
