GOLD MEDALIST, the agency representing actor Kim Soo Hyun, has officially filed criminal complaints against the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute and members of Kim Sae Ron’s family for the unauthorized release of a private photo.
The agency stated that Kim Sae Eui, the operator of Garo Sero, publicly broadcasted an image of Kim Soo Hyun in a compromising situation during a live stream on the channel. The complaint also includes a member of the late Kim Sae Ron’s family and an unidentified individual claiming to be her aunt, who allegedly provided the image to the YouTube host.
The charges fall under violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes, specifically the unlawful distribution of private footage.
In its statement, GOLD MEDALIST expressed deep sorrow over Kim Sae Ron’s passing while emphasizing that the photo was taken during a past relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron when they were both adults. The agency condemned the public disclosure of the image, describing it as a clear act of humiliation and a violation of privacy.
Additionally, Garo Sero’s operator allegedly threatened to release more private images, prompting the agency to take firm legal action.
