Zero Day Attack Series Explores Taiwan Crisis Ahead of Premiere

Date:

The Zero Day Attack series is finally set to premiere in Taiwan. This highly anticipated drama explores a fictional Chinese invasion and the lives it disrupts. Local audiences will be the first to watch it, with global streaming access arriving soon after. Producers first announced the project last year. Originally, they planned to release the show at a later date.

However, increased public interest and geopolitical tension pushed them to speed up the launch. The series takes place in the year 2028, right after Taiwan’s next presidential election. It imagines a full-scale crisis triggered by a military move from China. The Zero Day Attack series dives into the national response, both political and personal.

The show includes 10 episodes. Each episode tells a different story and features a different director. This structure allows the series to showcase a variety of styles and emotional tones. Every character deals with war in a unique way.Teachers, soldiers, journalists, and families all appear in the series.

Viewers will see how their lives shift as a result of invasion, chaos, and disinformation. Some resist, others flee, and many simply try to survive. Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense provided support during production. Military experts advised the team to make sure the scenarios felt realistic. This helped ground the drama in facts and details.

The production team spent over NT$200 million (roughly US$7 million). They invested in detailed sets, strong performances, and quality effects. As a result, the visuals feel sharp and the action scenes carry real weight. Earlier this year, one episode screened at a major global summit focused on democracy. Attendees praised the series for its emotional impact and political relevance.

Originally titled “Zero Day,” the project was later renamed the Zero Day Attack series. The new name helps it stand out and emphasizes the story’s urgency and military theme. The Zero Day Attack series arrives at a time of heightened awareness around regional conflict. It mixes national defense with human drama. The show encourages viewers to think deeply about identity, freedom, and resilience during crisis.
