Shohei Ohtani Homers in Tokyo Dome Return, Dodgers Beat Cubs 6-2

Date:

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani electrified the Tokyo Dome crowd with a towering solo home run on Wednesday night, leading the Dodgers to a 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

Facing Cubs pitcher Nate Pearson, Ohtani turned on a blazing 99 mph fastball and launched it deep into right-center field, barely clearing the fence. The home run was confirmed after an umpire review, sparking cheers from around 42,000 enthusiastic fans.

Ohtani’s homer extended the Dodgers’ lead and marked his third hit in the two-game Tokyo Series. The 30-year-old slugger previously went 2-for-5 with a double and a single in the Dodgers’ 4-1 victory on Tuesday night, and also homered during an exhibition game against the Yomiuri Giants on Saturday.

His impressive performance further highlights Ohtani’s ability to deliver in key moments on the international stage, much to the delight of the Tokyo Dome crowd.
