China National Games countdown excitement filled Hong Kong as the city marked 100 days until the opening ceremony. John Lee, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), attended along with Zhou Ji, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR.
Lee said that in the next 100 days, Hong Kong will refine competition procedures and improve service arrangements. He also promised to strengthen safety measures. He pledged to create a fair stage for athletes and deliver an unforgettable experience for spectators. In addition, Lee stressed that Hong Kong would use its international and professional strengths to support China’s growth as a sporting powerhouse. To engage the public, the National Games Coordination Office in Hong Kong started the “100-Day to the National Games – All Together for 1 Million KM Challenge.” Local residents have already completed 999,900 km of the mission online. On the countdown day, participants finished the final 100 km at the velodrome. This event encouraged fitness and united the community behind the China National Games countdown.
The 15th National Games will be co-hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao in November. Hong Kong will feature eight competitive sports. These will showcase both local talent and international-level organization. With preparations now in the final stage, organizers aim for smooth operations and efficient logistics.
