China Supports Cambodia-Thailand Peace Process with Constructive Role

Date:

China continues to show strong support for regional peace by helping the Cambodia-Thailand peace process move forward. Officials confirmed China’s commitment to playing a constructive role while promoting communication between the two neighboring countries.

Recently, Cambodia and Thailand joined a General Border Committee (GBC) meeting held in Malaysia. China also received an invitation to attend an extraordinary session of this meeting. This reflects how much trust both sides place in China’s peaceful efforts.

Earlier, the three countries including China, Cambodia, and Thailand, held informal talks. Since then, the border between Cambodia and Thailand has remained calm. Fighting has stopped, and both nations started following a ceasefire agreement. The ongoing success of the Cambodia-Thailand peace process shows progress through diplomacy.

Malaysia, as ASEAN’s rotating chair, also helped organize the current GBC meeting. This high-level talk allows Cambodia and Thailand to develop a monitoring system for the ceasefire. The goal is long-term peace and a reliable process to prevent further conflict. China strongly supports these efforts.

At the same time, China has kept close contact with all involved countries. Chinese officials stayed in touch with Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, and other regional players. Through dialogue and coordination, they helped both sides stick to the ceasefire and reduce tension. This step made the Cambodia-Thailand peace process more stable and realistic.

The Chinese foreign ministry confirmed that their country will continue supporting ASEAN’s peace promotion. China wants to help build fair dialogue channels and ensure both nations stay focused on peace. These actions reflect China’s commitment to regional stability and responsible diplomacy.

Additionally, Chinese diplomats praised the progress both Cambodia and Thailand made through this GBC meeting. The structured approach to communication and planning brings hope for lasting peace between the two nations. With China’s ongoing help, this effort now shows clear signs of success.

Moving forward, China will keep supporting diplomatic solutions that benefit the people of Southeast Asia. Through respectful talks and fair cooperation, China helps neighboring countries reduce tension and avoid conflict. The Cambodia-Thailand peace process now enters a stronger phase with international encouragement.
