Annie joins K-pop

Date:

Moon Seo-yoon, better known as Annie, will officially step into the spotlight as a K-pop idol later this month. The eldest daughter of Shinsegae Group president Chung Yoo-kyung has long stirred speculation about her music debut. Now, The Black Label has confirmed her participation in a new co-ed idol group. Annie joins K-pop through AllDay Project, whose debut will take place on June 23. The announcement ended months of rumors and sparked fresh interest across the entertainment industry.

Alongside Annie, the five-member group includes several high-profile names. Youngseo, formerly of Illit, returns to the scene with renewed attention. Woochan, once a BigHit Music trainee, adds vocal strength and past experience. Bailey, a prominent dancer and choreographer, brings an edge of professionalism. Model Tarzzan rounds out the diverse lineup, creating buzz for the group’s unique concept.

Notably, Annie joins K-pop while also studying at Columbia University in the United States. As the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group chair Lee Myung-hee, her presence draws both public curiosity and media scrutiny. Her rumored idol aspirations surfaced last year, although neither her family nor the label confirmed them. Nevertheless, fans speculated after spotting her in training settings. This confirmation now shifts focus toward her musical potential rather than her social background.

AllDay Project serves as The Black Label’s second idol act, following the debut of Meovv. Teddy, the label’s founder and chief producer, leads the production of the group’s music and concept. The label announced it would release teaser content throughout June, building anticipation until the group’s debut. Many expect a fresh musical style and bold visual identity. The industry views the debut as another test of The Black Label’s direction in the idol market.

Ultimately, Annie joins K-pop at a moment of shifting industry dynamics and growing global focus. Her background may draw initial attention, but her performance will decide her staying power. The group’s debut will likely spark wide-ranging reactions from fans and critics alike. As promotions begin, public interest continues to rise. For now, the spotlight rests firmly on June 23.
