Australian Ambassador Honored with Mongolia’s “Golden Gerege” Award

Mongolia has recognized Australian Ambassador Katie Smith for her contributions to strengthening diplomatic ties. On March 25, 2025, Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh awarded her the prestigious “Golden Gerege” as she completed her tenure in Mongolia.

During their meeting, Foreign Minister Batmunkh praised the strong partnership between Mongolia and Australia. She highlighted their growing cooperation in politics, trade, and investment. She also emphasized efforts to elevate their relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership. Australia remains a key ally for Mongolia in the Asia-Pacific region.

As a sign of gratitude, she presented her with the “Golden Gerege”, a traditional Mongolian honor.
