China, Russia Pledge to Deepen Investment Cooperation at Beijing Meeting

Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang met Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in Beijing on Tuesday. Ding noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination. It also marks the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation.

Ding called on both sides to leverage the steering role of the China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee. He urged steady progress on key projects and expansion into new cooperation areas. Manturov responded that Russia stands ready to strengthen strategic alignment with China. He said Russia will deepen cooperation and address issues of mutual concern.

The two officials also discussed improving the overall level of cooperation between both nations. Ding serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Manturov holds the position of Russian First Deputy Prime Minister. Their meeting followed the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries.

Ding also noted that cooperation has maintained positive momentum under that strategic guidance. He called for steadily advancing key projects and expanding cooperation areas. Manturov said Russia is willing to continuously improve the level of investment cooperation with China. Both sides expressed willingness to achieve more practical results together. The anniversary milestones provide a backdrop for these discussions. The China-Russia Investment Cooperation Committee will coordinate next steps.
