China sweeps diving golds at World Cup Super Final, thrilling home fans by winning every event on the opening day in Beijing. The packed National Aquatic Center erupted as China claimed all five gold medals on Friday. The team showcased precision, poise and exceptional synchro work throughout the competition. Their clean entries and technical mastery reinforced their long-standing dominance in world diving. The event also marked key returns and new partnerships across the Chinese lineup.

Olympic champions Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi defended their women’s 10m platform synchro title with a total of 350.88 points. It was their first pair performance since the Paris Olympics last summer. Remarkably, the two reunited only during warm-ups but still delivered an impressive final dive. Chen admitted she needed to refine her personal technique despite the win. Meanwhile, Quan highlighted the physical changes she has managed as she continues to grow.

In the women’s 3m springboard synchro, Chen Yiwen and Chang Yani also cruised to gold with 323.13 points. The Australian duo Maddison Keeney and Alysha Koloi followed in second, while Britain’s Yasmin Harper and Scarlett Mew Jensen took bronze. Chen Yiwen, a double Olympic gold medallist, expressed nostalgia returning to the venue as a seasoned diver. She emphasised their goal of hitting 340 points, a target they have met only once. Keeney praised the strong atmosphere and called it valuable preparation for the upcoming World Championships.

New pairing Zheng Jiuyuan and Hu Yukang dominated the men’s 3m springboard synchro, scoring 448.65 points. Meanwhile, Cheng Zilong and Zhu Zifeng took gold in the men’s 10m platform synchro with a solid 460.02. Both pairs displayed consistency and power through all six dives.

In the mixed team final, China closed the day with another top finish. Chen Yiwen, Wang Zongyuan, Chen Yuxi and Cheng Zilong scored 507.20 to beat Ukraine and Mexico. Chen Yuxi thanked the home fans and said the team grew more confident with each dive. She also looked ahead to strong performances in the individual rounds.
