China’s top political advisor Wang Huning met with Sardor Umurzakov, special advisor to the president of Uzbekistan, in Beijing on Tuesday, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing shared development goals under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), emphasized China’s readiness to implement the strategic consensus reached by the leaders of both countries. He expressed strong support for enhancing cooperation in infrastructure, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges as part of a broader vision for a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
During the meeting, Umurzakov extended his congratulations on China’s successful hosting of the “two sessions” – the annual gatherings of the National People’s Congress and the CPPCC. He highlighted Uzbekistan’s admiration for China’s social and economic achievements under the CPC’s leadership and expressed a strong interest in learning from China’s experience in industrialization, poverty alleviation, and technological advancement.
The two sides pledged to intensify cooperation in key areas including innovation, trade, infrastructure development, and regional integration. The visit is seen as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen China’s strategic ties with Central Asian nations and solidify regional support for its global initiatives.
