CPPCC urged to support China’s 15th Five-Year Plan

Date:

CPPCC urged to support China’s 15th Five-Year Plan during a key council meeting chaired by top advisor Wang Huning on Wednesday. He told the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference to take greater responsibility in shaping national policy. He said the 2026–2030 plan requires deeper consultation and stronger institutional backing from the CPPCC. Wang also emphasised the strategic nature of the plan in guiding long-term development across every major sector. The meeting reflected Beijing’s push for more structured political input.

CPPCC urged to support China’s 15th Five-Year Plan by advising on reforms, innovation policy, and national modernization. Wang asked political advisors to contribute actively to ongoing restructuring efforts. He encouraged members to offer practical suggestions aligned with the Party’s economic and social priorities. He also framed modernization as a collective mission that needs institutional commitment and ideological clarity. Political advisors must help translate strategy into achievable policy objectives.

In addition, Wang told members to observe the Party’s eight-point rules on frugality and conduct. He called for discipline and professionalism from all advisors during this critical planning cycle. CPPCC urged to support China’s 15th Five-Year Plan not only domestically, but also through international engagement. Wang said foreign affairs efforts must reflect the Party’s broader diplomatic goals. The CPPCC should organise activities that advance China’s global position while supporting internal strategy.

The Chairpersons Council also reviewed proposed revisions to improve consultative rules and the role of special committees. These updates aim to enhance coordination and institutional performance ahead of the new plan. Wang stressed that internal reform is necessary for delivering national objectives effectively. By refining its consultative framework, the CPPCC can better support future policy implementation. Party leaders expect smoother communication between central planning and political consultation.

Five-year plans remain central to China’s vision of sustained, long-term governance under Party leadership. The next plan arrives amid global uncertainty, requiring flexibility, insight, and unified effort. Wang made clear that advisory bodies must align closely with strategic goals, both at home and abroad. CPPCC urged to support China’s 15th Five-Year Plan through deeper involvement, sharper advice, and stronger accountability. These sessions now set the tone for China’s next major planning phase.
