Forest Law Enforcement Focus in Inner Mongolia Visit

Date:

Zhao Leji has called on people’s congresses to strengthen their role in China’s economic and social progress. He also urged lawmakers to focus on forest law enforcement during a four-day visit to Inner Mongolia. Zhao serves as chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee. He also sits on the Communist Party’s top political body. His visit ran from Monday to Thursday this week.

During the trip, Zhao met community members and enterprise leaders in Arxan. He visited both regional and municipal people’s congresses to discuss priorities. He told lawmakers to uphold Party leadership at every level. They must also follow guidance from the central government. In addition, Zhao emphasised the need to enhance legislative and oversight work.

He urged people’s congresses to listen closely to public concerns. Zhao wants lawmakers to work with full legal compliance. He also encouraged them to adopt a more practical approach. Moreover, they should engage in the Party’s education campaign on conduct rules. Through these efforts, Zhao hopes to boost governance and transparency.

A key focus of the visit was forest law enforcement. Zhao led an inspection team to review how Inner Mongolia applies the Forest Law. He noted the region’s critical role in China’s ecosystem. Inner Mongolia holds the country’s largest and most diverse ecosystem service zone. This makes its environmental policies vitally important.

Zhao stressed the need for faithful implementation of the Forest Law. He also urged continuous work on forest conservation and tree planting. Officials must aim to expand both the quantity and quality of forest resources. Stronger forest-fire prevention and pest control efforts are essential. Forest law enforcement must evolve alongside measures to secure ecological safety.

Furthermore, Zhao called for modernising the forestry industry. This transformation must prioritise ecological protection, he said. Forest law enforcement will remain central to this shift. Zhao’s visit underscored the Party’s focus on sustainable development. It also highlighted Inner Mongolia’s role in China’s green future.
