Japan Provides Medical Equipment to Kyrgyz Healthcare Facilities and Schools

Japan has signed grant agreements to supply medical equipment to healthcare facilities and educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan, strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health and education sectors.

The agreements were formalized at a signing ceremony attended by Japanese Ambassador Goda Hideki, Deputy Minister of Health Karmanbek Davletov, and Deputy Minister of Education, along with representatives of the grant recipient institutions.

Targeted Support for Medical Centers and Schools

Under the agreement, three key institutions will receive advanced medical equipment to improve healthcare services and educational support for visually impaired students.

  • Bakai-Ata General Medical Practice Center (Talas Region) will be equipped with a cardiac surgical monitor, a portable ultrasound machine, and an electroencephalograph, valued at $83,450.
  • Sulyukta City Medical Center (Batken Region) will receive an autoclave, an ENT combine, and an esophagogastroduodenoscope, valued at $93,390, to enhance diagnostic and treatment capabilities.
  • Osh Boarding School for Blind and Visually Impaired Children will be provided with 12 Braille typewriters and an autorefractometer, worth $47,150, to improve education accessibility for students with visual impairments.

Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

This initiative reflects Japan’s ongoing commitment to enhancing medical and educational infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan, particularly in underserved regions. The provision of modern equipment aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, patient care, and accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

By supporting essential services, the partnership is expected to enhance healthcare efficiency and foster inclusive education, reinforcing the strong diplomatic and humanitarian ties between Japan and Kyrgyzstan.
