Jennie’s Solo Album “Ruby” Receives High Praise and Record Score from Pitchfork

Date:

Jennie’s solo album Ruby has garnered widespread acclaim from both fans and critics, with one of the most notable endorsements coming from Pitchfork. On March 12, Pitchfork released its review of Ruby, awarding it an impressive score of 7.1. For avid readers of the publication, a score of 7 or above is often seen as a significant achievement, making this rating especially noteworthy for the artist.

With Ruby, Jennie has achieved the highest score ever given to a K-pop soloist by Pitchfork, surpassing her BLACKPINK groupmates Lisa and Rosé, who received scores of 5.2 and 5.5, respectively, for their recent solo albums. Jennie also outshone BLACKPINK’s own best score from the publication, which was 6.5 for their 2022 album Born Pink.

This milestone highlights Jennie’s strong presence in the K-pop industry as a solo artist, setting a new standard for future K-pop solo projects.
