Mongolia and Russia Reaffirm Historic Friendship

President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited Moscow on May 8, 2025, at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The visit marked the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This event offered both leaders an opportunity to reaffirm the historic Mongolia-Russia partnership.

During their official meeting, President Khurelsukh conveyed sincere congratulations to President Putin. He also extended warm regards to the people of Russia on behalf of the Mongolian government and its citizens. President Khurelsukh emphasized the unwavering support Mongolia gave during World War II. He recalled how Mongolia supplied critical aid to the Red Army under the slogans “Everything for Victory” and “Everything for the Frontline.”

President Khurelsukh proudly noted the participation of Mongolian troops in the Victory Day Parade. He highlighted this as a symbol of unity between the two nations. President Putin warmly welcomed the Mongolian delegation and expressed heartfelt gratitude for Mongolia’s historical support. He affirmed that the Russian people deeply value Mongolia’s sacrifices during wartime.

The two leaders explored ways to strengthen the historic Mongolia-Russia partnership. They discussed cooperation in various areas such as trade, energy, agriculture, and transport. Both presidents agreed that their countries must work together more closely on economic development. They also shared plans to boost collaboration in tourism and environmental conservation.

Additionally, they emphasized the importance of new joint investment projects. Both nations aim to build stronger connections in logistics and infrastructure. These efforts reflect a shared vision for long-term prosperity.

At the end of their talks, both leaders committed to deepening their strategic partnership. They stressed that the historic Mongolia-Russia partnership stands as a model for regional cooperation. By honoring the past, Mongolia and Russia now look toward a future built on trust and shared goals.
