The Mongolia National Ice Hockey Team continues to shine at the Ice Hockey World Championship 2025 Division III. The tournament is currently being held in Mexico City from April 21 to May 3, 2025.
This 10-day event features teams from several countries and regions. Competitors include Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, North Korea, Hong Kong, and Mongolia. Each team aims to secure a top spot in Division III.
The Mongolia National Ice Hockey Team, made up of 21 skilled players, entered the competition with strong momentum. Head Coach Mergen Arslan leads the team, alongside assistant coaches Otgonbayar Munkhnasan and Mishigsuren Namjil.
In the opening match on April 27, Mongolia faced the Philippines. The team played aggressively and scored a massive 13–7 win. This result boosted team morale and confidence going into the next game.
The following day, on April 28, Mongolia clashed with Singapore. The Mongolian players dominated the ice and secured another overwhelming victory with a score of 11–1. These back-to-back wins place them among the strongest contenders in the tournament.
These victories reflect Mongolia’s rapid improvement in international ice hockey. The Mongolia National Ice Hockey Team previously took the silver medal in the 2023 championship. They then won gold in the Division IV tournament in 2024, earning their promotion to Division III.
Now, the team is proving they belong at this higher level. Their disciplined training, sharp teamwork, and scoring ability have impressed fans and opponents alike.
As the championship continues, the Mongolia National Ice Hockey Team remains focused on each game. They aim to build on their winning streak and finish the tournament undefeated.
