NewJeans Members Remove NJZ Traces Following Court Ruling

Date:

The NewJeans members have removed all traces of their new group name “NJZ” from social media. This action follows a court’s decision prohibiting them from engaging in independent activities.

On April 4, the group updated the Instagram account “@njz_official,” changing its ID to “@mhdhh_friends.” They also deleted the profile picture and removed all prior posts. Additionally, the account used by the members’ parents was changed to “@mhdhh_pr.” These actions likely align with the Seoul Central District Court’s decision made on March 21.

In December 2024, the NewJeans members announced their new group name, “NJZ.” They excitedly shared their plans for the group on social media, saying, “We hope you will look forward to the amazing journey that will begin with NJZ in 2025.”

However, after the court ruling, the group removed any official mention of NJZ. Their agency, ADOR, expressed concerns about the unofficial accounts. They reminded fans that NewJeans has official channels, such as their fan platform and Instagram. ADOR emphasized that the members should use these official platforms for future interactions.

The NewJeans members have appealed against the court’s injunction, which prevents them from pursuing independent projects. A hearing to review their appeal is scheduled for April 9.

This development has raised questions about the members’ future activities and their ability to balance their solo projects with their commitments to the group. Fans and industry insiders will be closely watching the outcome of the appeal.
