Nvidia Robots Boost Smart Healthcare at Taiwan Hospital

Date:

MacKay Memorial Hospital in Taiwan now uses Nvidia-powered robots to boost smart healthcare across multiple departments.

The hospital partnered with cloud tech provider Ubitus to lead this high-tech initiative. As a result, both patients and staff benefit.

During Nvidia GTC Taipei, Deputy Director Chen Yu-jen shared the hospital’s smart healthcare progress. He emphasized its impact on staff workload.

First, the hospital launched robots that understand voice commands and deliver medical specimens. Consequently, staff can focus on direct patient care.

Additionally, these robots use Nvidia Riva for speech recognition and Audio2Face 3D for facial expressions. Therefore, they interact more naturally with humans.

Moreover, 8K facial scanning gives the robots a lifelike appearance. This detail enhances patient trust and improves communication.

Beyond robots, the hospital will test robotic dogs in the emergency department. Because the ER is fast-paced, it offers ideal testing grounds.

So far, results show that robotic dogs support faster and smoother emergency workflows. Therefore, doctors can respond more efficiently during crises.

Furthermore, the hospital will introduce a Virtual Human system in the ER. This digital assistant appears on a screen and collects data.

Consequently, doctors can begin treatment with more complete information. At the same time, patients receive quicker attention.

Meanwhile, Nvidia’s MONAI framework powers medical imaging tools at MacKay. These AI tools highlight lung and brain anomalies faster than humans.

In fact, using MONAI reduces diagnostic time by 20% to 30%. This efficiency improves patient outcomes and supports faster decision-making.

In addition, the robots translate medical interviews into multiple languages. As a result, global collaboration becomes easier and more effective.

Chen praised Taiwan’s strengths in AI, health insurance, and GPU computing. Accordingly, the country stands out as a leader in smart medicine.

Ultimately, Nvidia-powered robots boost smart healthcare by improving diagnostics, easing workloads, and enhancing multilingual support.

Looking ahead, MacKay plans to expand AI tools across departments. Because of this, they expect better efficiency and patient satisfaction.

Clearly, Taiwan’s smart healthcare journey has only just begun. Still, one thing is certain: Nvidia-powered robots boost smart healthcare.

As hospitals embrace innovation, these advanced tools will continue shaping the future. Indeed, Nvidia-powered robots boost smart healthcare worldwide.
