Former South Korean Minister Park Jin Receives Mongolia Polar Star Order

Date:

Mongolia awarded former South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin the Order of the Polar Star. The President of Mongolia conferred this Polar Star order for Park’s valuable contribution to bilateral relations. He helped strengthen the Strategic Partnership between both countries. Consequently many proposals from his 2022 official visit are now bearing fruit.

Park also launched the Mongolia–Korea Joint Rare Earth Metals Research Center in Ulaanbaatar last year. This center plays an important role in bilateral cooperation today. Therefore this Polar Star order acknowledges tangible outcomes from his diplomatic efforts.

During his current stay, Park will deliver a lecture at two universities. The lecture addresses science diplomacy in the era of artificial intelligence. He will speak at the National University of Mongolia and the Mongolian University of Science and Technology. Diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also attend. Park currently serves as a visiting professor at KAIST. The award ceremony and lecture reinforce the upward trajectory of Mongolia-South Korea relations.
