South Korean actress Park Min Young may soon be returning to the small screen, as she is currently considering a lead role in the upcoming drama “Siren” (working title).
On March 18, JTBC Entertainment News reported that Park had been offered the leading role in the series. In response, a representative from her agency confirmed, “It is one of the projects she has received an offer for and is currently reviewing.”
A Thrilling Remake of a Japanese Classic
“Siren” takes its name from Greek mythology, referencing sirens—mystical creatures known for their enchanting voices that lure sailors to their doom. The drama is set to be a Korean adaptation of the 1999 Japanese series “Kôri no Sekai” (also known as “Ice World”).
The original story follows an insurance investigator who gets entangled in a mysterious case surrounding a female teacher’s death. The Korean remake is expected to be reimagined to suit local audiences, potentially adding new elements to heighten its suspenseful narrative.
Park Min Young’s Busy Schedule
While Park Min Young has yet to confirm her participation in “Siren”, she is currently finishing up filming for another highly anticipated project, “The Confidence Man KR” (working title).
Park has built a strong reputation for her versatility, starring in a wide range of genres, from romantic comedies like “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” to thrillers such as “Marry My Husband”. If she joins “Siren”, fans can expect another captivating performance from the talented actress.
