Specifically, Hengzhou City and Binyang County experienced rainfall breaking local 24-hour meteorological records entirely. Notably, all reported casualties occurred specifically within Hengzhou during this intense weather event. In Hengzhou alone, these record floods affected 84,700 residents across the surrounding area. Officials have already evacuated 53,808 people, while relocating another 660 individuals remains underway currently. Meanwhile, Binyang County reported 8,606 affected residents, with all 8,150 requiring evacuation successfully relocated.
Given the severity, Guangxi authorities upgraded their flood alert to the highest possible warning level. This red warning took effect at 7 a.m. Tuesday, reflecting deteriorating regional conditions. According to the regional hydrology center, seventy monitoring stations recorded water levels exceeding warning thresholds significantly.
