Seungri Denies Business Plans, Says He’s Living a Quiet Life

Date:

In a recent interview with Ilgan Sports on April 3, 2025, former idol Seungri addressed ongoing rumors about his business activities. The former BIGBANG member, who had been embroiled in a high-profile criminal case, refuted claims that he was planning to start a business overseas. He explained that he was living quietly in South Korea and focused on his personal life.

Seungri’s comments came as a response to reports suggesting he was preparing to expand his ventures internationally. These rumors circulated after sightings of him abroad, which some people interpreted as signs of new business endeavors. However, Seungri was quick to clarify that these assumptions were completely unfounded.

“I’m currently living in Korea, and I have no plans to leave anytime soon. Most of my recent overseas trips have been for personal reasons, like attending friends’ weddings or taking time off,” he said during the interview. “I’m not involved in any business meetings or looking to start anything outside of Korea.”

Seungri continued to emphasize that he had no intention of returning to the entertainment industry. Despite ongoing speculation, he stated that he was not considering any future projects in the field. “People might think I’m still interested in the entertainment industry, but the truth is I have no plans in that direction,” he clarified.

The former idol also spoke about his limited interactions with the entertainment world. “The only recent interaction I had with someone in the entertainment industry was a meal with old colleagues, reminiscing about the past,” he shared. This comment highlights how Seungri has been staying away from his former career, which had once catapulted him to stardom.

Seungri’s release from prison in February 2023 had drawn significant public attention, with many questioning his future. Following his legal battles, he was not immediately seen re-entering the public spotlight. Instead, he took a step back from the industry, choosing a more private life. In his recent interview, Seungri revealed that he had not engaged in any economic activities since his release.

“It’s all just rumors and gossip,” he stated firmly. “Just because I have many friends abroad doesn’t mean I’m planning anything overseas. My visit to China was not for a business event or to start a project. I went there just to attend a friend’s wedding.”

Seungri made it clear that he had no interest in re-entering any business ventures. “I’m mostly spending time with my family, just living my life without doing anything,” he added. This comment suggests that Seungri is focused on his personal life, rather than pursuing any professional opportunities.

His statements come amidst growing attention on his past relationships and personal life. Recently, his alleged ex-girlfriend appeared on a dating show, which reignited interest in their six-year-long relationship. The resurfacing of his ex-girlfriend has added fuel to the media frenzy surrounding Seungri.

While many continue to speculate about his next steps, Seungri’s words offer some clarity. He expressed that his life now revolves around his family and enjoying personal time. “I’m not looking to start anything new at this point. I’m not planning any projects,” he reiterated during the interview.

Seungri’s clarification about his current lifestyle may come as a surprise to some. After his release from prison, the public expected that he might return to the business world in some capacity. However, Seungri seems determined to avoid the spotlight and live a peaceful life outside the public eye.

This interview sheds light on his mindset after his time in prison and the media frenzy that followed. Seungri, who once built a powerful career as a K-pop idol and businessman, now appears to be focusing solely on his personal well-being. His comments suggest a clear decision to step away from the limelight and pursue a quieter life, free from the pressures of the entertainment industry.

Furthermore, his explanation about the nature of his overseas trips provides insight into the level of public scrutiny he continues to face. Even simple personal visits are often interpreted as potential business moves, which has led to misunderstandings about his intentions. Seungri’s firm denial of any business ventures serves as an attempt to shut down these false narratives.

Although Seungri is not planning any future business activities, his past continues to follow him. The media’s continued focus on his personal life, particularly regarding his ex-girlfriend’s recent appearance on a dating show, only fuels public curiosity. However, it seems that Seungri is determined to keep his private life just that—private.

In conclusion, Seungri’s comments during his interview clarify the rumors about his post-prison life. Contrary to the speculation about Seungri’s business plans, he stated clearly that he has no such intentions. Instead, he is focused on spending time with his family and staying out of the public eye. Whether or not his relationship with the entertainment industry remains a topic of interest, it seems Seungri has no plans to return to it.
