Shenzhen APEC Meeting 2026 will bring Asia-Pacific leaders together, announced Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday. He made the statement during the chairmanship handover session of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.

Xi highlighted Shenzhen’s rapid transformation from a small fishing village into a modern global metropolis. He described the city as a clear symbol of China’s commitment to open and mutually beneficial economic policies. Therefore, hosting the Shenzhen APEC Meeting 2026 offers a strategic opportunity to boost regional growth and shared prosperity.

Moreover, Xi emphasized that APEC remains the most important economic cooperation platform in the Asia-Pacific. Consequently, it has driven trade, investment, and technological collaboration across the region for decades. He also stressed that building an Asia-Pacific community with a shared future remains essential for long-term stability and prosperity.

Xi outlined the priorities for Shenzhen APEC Meeting 2026. He urged members to advance the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific, improve regional connectivity, and expand the digital economy. Additionally, he encouraged cooperation in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to accelerate economic development.

Leaders from participating economies welcomed China’s hosting of the meeting.
