Taiwan-Paraguay Cooperation Drives Innovation and Growth

Date:

On Saturday, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung praised the Taiwan-Paraguay cooperation as a global example during a joint press conference with his Paraguayan counterpart, Ruben Ramirez Lezcano. He pointed to several ongoing projects that highlight how Taiwan has evolved from value-based diplomacy to value-added diplomacy, benefiting both countries.

Lin specifically mentioned the Taiwan–Paraguay Smart Technology Park, the Taiwan–Paraguay Technological University, and an electric bus pilot program. These initiatives demonstrate the countries’ shared commitment to innovation, technology, and sustainable development. Furthermore, they show how Taiwan-Paraguay cooperation continues to deepen and diversify.

This year marks the 68th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Paraguay. Lin highlighted that this milestone creates a timely opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and explore future collaboration. To further this goal, he invited 31 Taiwanese business leaders from various sectors to join his delegation. The purpose is to expand economic partnerships and foster mutual growth.

Ramirez expressed gratitude for Taiwan’s assistance in healthcare, housing construction, and urban transportation. He emphasized how this support has significantly benefited the people of Paraguay. Additionally, Ramirez noted that Taiwan has become a key market for Paraguayan livestock products. These achievements reflect the broad scope of Taiwan-Paraguay cooperation.

According to Ramirez, their strong partnership is rooted in shared values and trust. Despite facing challenges, Paraguay remains firmly committed to nurturing and expanding this relationship. He expressed confidence that deeper cooperation will lead to a brighter and more prosperous future for both countries.

Both ministers reiterated their dedication to ongoing collaboration. They pledged to work together to improve the well-being of their citizens and strengthen their alliance. Later in the day, they co-hosted a reception celebrating the 68 years of diplomatic ties between Taiwan and Paraguay.

In summary, the Taiwan-Paraguay cooperation showcases how long-term partnerships based on common goals can bring significant progress. With a focus on innovation and mutual support, both countries aim to continue growing their friendship for many years to come.
