Taiwan welcomes Indonesian tourists in an exciting new way. A delegation from the Taiwan Tourism Administration launched a week-long campaign to showcase Taiwan’s charm. From April 20 to 26, representatives are hosting vibrant events in Jakarta, Surabaya, and Medan.
The group includes 33 members from 15 travel and hospitality organizations. Each representative brings something unique to highlight Taiwan’s cultural appeal. The goal is to spark interest and inspire more Indonesians to visit Taiwan.
With the theme “Have a Drink in Taiwan,” the events highlight Taiwan’s famous food and beverages. Visitors can enjoy bubble tea and halal-friendly popcorn chicken. These popular dishes serve as a warm introduction to Taiwan’s culinary world.
Beyond food, the campaign includes creative workshops and cultural experiences. Guests can make DIY tea bags or craft tile-inspired brooches. The use of Taiwan-themed Instagram stickers also makes the event fun and shareable for a younger audience.
Taiwan welcomes Indonesian tourists by building lasting connections. Organizers hope to link Indonesian travel agencies with Taiwanese partners. These efforts aim to produce more Muslim-friendly and customized travel packages.
Earlier this year, Taiwan opened a tourism office in Jakarta. This new base helps support seminars, events, and travel planning between both countries. It also strengthens the relationship between the tourism sectors.
To boost the campaign’s visibility, a popular Indonesian celebrity, Mikha Tambayong Mahenra, serves as a tourism ambassador. Her presence helps draw attention and build excitement among fans and future travelers.
Over 224,000 Indonesian tourists visited Taiwan in 2024. This marked an 11.14% increase from the previous year. With this campaign, Taiwan hopes to grow that number even further.
At every stop in this three-city tour, the message rings clear: Taiwan welcomes Indonesian tourists—with open arms, rich flavors, and heartfelt experiences.
