Taiwan, Top Destination for Female Digital Nomads

Date:

Taiwan has emerged as one of the best destinations for female digital nomads, according to UK travel site Holidu. The site evaluated over 200 cities worldwide and ranked Taipei as the safest city for women working remotely. Additionally, Kaohsiung made the top 10 list, securing the seventh spot for its welcoming atmosphere.

Holidu highlighted Taipei’s position at the top, emphasizing its strong community safety, protective women’s legislation, and foreigner-friendly environment. These factors contribute to the city’s popularity among female digital nomads.

Taiwan has taken significant steps in recent years to attract foreign talent. The country offers a unique blend of vibrant culture, bustling urban centers, and stunning natural landscapes. These qualities make it especially appealing to digital nomads, who seek an inspiring and practical base for their work.

In January, Taiwan introduced a new digital nomad visa. This visa allows eligible applicants to stay in the country for up to 180 days. After this period, nomads can apply for a regular work visa or an Employment Gold Card.

Furthermore, the National Development Council (NDC) recently proposed additional measures for digital nomads. If approved by the Cabinet, these measures would allow qualified nomads to live and work in Taiwan for up to two years. Moreover, certain foreign professionals could qualify for permanent residency after just one year.

Taiwan’s efforts reflect its commitment to fostering an environment where female digital nomads can thrive. With new opportunities and a strong focus on safety and inclusivity, Taiwan continues to attract remote workers from all over the world.
