TDB Google Pay officially launched in Mongolia as Trade and Development Bank rolled out the service for its cardholders. Consequently, this move marks a major step in advancing digital payments nationwide and modernizing the financial sector.

Starting November 18, TDB customers holding virtual Mastercards or T-Cards can link their cards to Google Wallet through the TDB Online app. This integration allows users to make secure, fast, and convenient payments using Android smartphones. Moreover, it enables seamless transactions without carrying physical cards.

The launch event took place in Ulaanbaatar and featured senior officials from the Bank of Mongolia. In addition, regional executives from Mastercard joined the event, emphasizing the initiative’s significance for Mongolia’s ongoing financial transformation.

TDB CEO O. Orkhon said the bank consistently delivers innovative solutions that meet global standards. Furthermore, he added that Google Pay represents the next step in providing smarter, safer, and more convenient financial services.

TDB Google Pay connects Mongolia’s banking system to the global digital ecosystem and signals strategic growth for customers and the financial sector. In particular, the service allows users to pay quickly for goods and services while reducing dependence on cash.

Industry experts noted that mobile payment adoption boosts financial inclusion. In addition, they explained that digital wallets strengthen cybersecurity by lowering fraud risks compared with traditional payment methods.

Customers can activate the service by downloading the Google Wallet app, opening TDB Online, and linking their card through the Google Pay menu. Consequently, officials expect tech-savvy consumers and business clients to adopt the platform rapidly.
