The Toyama Lamb Festival 2026 took place on April 25 and 26. This lamb festival used the former NHK Toyama broadcasting building site. Organizers planned the event to raise awareness of lamb’s appeal. They also aimed to help revitalize the local area. Therefore this lamb festival marked the first event of its kind in the prefecture.
Restaurants from inside and outside Toyama prepared signature lamb dishes. The lineup included bone-in cuts, spiced skewers, and lamb-filled yakisoba. Pizza and ramen also appeared on the menu. Crowds of visitors enjoyed the creatively prepared dishes. The savory aroma of grilling meat filled the event space.
An office worker from Kurobe visited with her colleagues. She said every dish was easy to eat and delicious. She could really taste the rich flavor of the lamb. The organizing committee expressed satisfaction with the strong turnout. This festival represents a new approach to regional revitalization. The committee may make it an annual event in the future.
