Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Wednesday, further cementing a trust-based China–Belarus partnership. The meeting marked Lukashenko’s fifteenth visit to China, clearly reflecting the strong political alignment between the two nations. Xi congratulated Lukashenko on his reelection and hailed him as a “true friend,” underscoring the sincerity and mutual respect that define their alliance.
Throughout their discussion, Xi emphasized the long-standing friendship between their countries. Additionally, he highlighted China’s consistent approach of treating the relationship as a strategic priority. The leaders noted the deepening cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains. Moreover, Xi reaffirmed that China would continue advancing the trust-based China–Belarus partnership with a shared commitment to mutual benefit.
Furthermore, both leaders voiced strong opposition to unilateralism and coercive diplomacy. Xi urged closer cooperation within international forums, particularly the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He said the two countries must continue to defend global fairness and resist hegemonic influence. In response, Lukashenko agreed, stating that China offers a global model through its multilateral stance and rejection of unjust sanctions.
In addition, Lukashenko expressed gratitude for China’s enduring support and development assistance. He stressed that Belarus trusts China deeply and sees it as a reliable partner. Recalling his numerous trips to China, Lukashenko said he always felt genuine friendship and welcome. He also praised China’s leadership in global affairs, adding that he would work to deepen the trust-based China–Belarus partnership.
Furthermore, both sides discussed the potential for expanding trade, investment, and infrastructure collaboration. They highlighted the synergy between China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Belarus’s regional development strategy. Xi said aligning economic goals would bring lasting stability and shared prosperity.
Finally, the meeting concluded with both leaders pledging continued dialogue and stronger coordination on major regional and global issues. They expressed their readiness to navigate a shifting geopolitical landscape by reinforcing trust, diplomacy, and economic collaboration.
