Türkiye and Mongolia Deepen Diplomatic Ties

Türkiye’s new ambassador to Mongolia met with President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa in Ulaanbaatar. Ambassador Başak Genç Yüksel presented her official Letter of Credence during a formal ceremony. This meeting marked a key moment in advancing strategic partnership between the two countries.

President Khurelsukh welcomed the Ambassador with sincere congratulations. He wished her success in her mission to enhance diplomatic cooperation. The two officials discussed shared goals and ways to deepen existing ties.

The President highlighted his confidence in Türkiye’s continued role in Mongolia’s foreign policy. He also recalled his State Visit to Türkiye in January 2025. That visit marked a major step in advancing strategic partnership between the nations.

Ambassador Yüksel expressed appreciation for the warm welcome. She affirmed her commitment to expanding political, economic, and cultural relations. Her diplomatic experience strengthens this mission.

Since 1997, she has served in Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She specializes in European Union affairs. Over the years, she held postings in Pakistan, the EU, Slovakia, and Russia.

Mongolia and Türkiye began formal diplomatic relations on June 24, 1969. Türkiye opened its embassy in Ulaanbaatar in 1996. Mongolia responded by opening its embassy in Ankara in 1997. These milestones helped build a solid foundation for future cooperation.

Today, both countries continue working on new initiatives. They focus on education, trade, and regional stability. The strategic bond between Mongolia and Türkiye remains strong and full of potential.

President Khurelsukh reaffirmed Mongolia’s dedication to this shared vision. He believes advancing strategic partnership benefits both sides. This visit by Ambassador Yüksel reinforces that belief.
