WINNER Returns Without Song Min-ho

Date:

WINNER concert without Song Min-ho will take place for the first time in over three years, according to YG Entertainment on Wednesday. The K-pop group will perform without the rapper, who currently faces allegations linked to his military service. The three remaining members will reunite with fans in a long-awaited comeback performance. Their last concert occurred in April 2022, before mandatory service halted group activities. Fans have waited years to see the trio return to the stage.

YG explained the decision by citing fans’ enduring support and the group’s strong desire to reconnect. The agency acknowledged the choice was difficult, especially given the unresolved legal issue. However, YG expressed hope that fans would understand and support the band’s efforts. The WINNER concert without Song Min-ho reflects a compromise between public expectation and internal responsibility. The company asked for warmth and understanding as the group resumes public performances.

Meanwhile, Song Min-ho remains under investigation for possible misconduct during his alternative military service. The accusations first surfaced in December 2024, sparking a probe by the Military Manpower Administration. South Korean police later launched their own inquiry to evaluate the charges. Song reportedly completed his military duties between March and December 2023. Yet, investigators are reviewing claims of negligence during his public service tenure.

Authorities questioned Song in January, although they have not yet reached a final conclusion. His case remains active, with further developments expected in the coming months. The singer has kept a low profile since the allegations emerged. Some fans have expressed disappointment, while others voiced support and urged for fairness. The ongoing probe has inevitably cast a shadow over the WINNER concert without Song Min-ho.

Despite the controversy, the group aims to focus on music and reconnect with fans through performance. The three members have spent recent months preparing and rehearsing together. Their return marks a symbolic restart following years of dormancy. Although Song’s absence will be noticeable, the members plan to fill the stage with renewed energy. The WINNER concert without Song Min-ho now carries emotional weight, blending excitement and uncertainty as the group moves forward.
