Taiwan experienced a significant increase in COVID cases last week, reporting over 62,000 outpatient and emergency visits related to the virus. Additionally, those with chronic illnesses faced higher risks. The Centers for Disease Control noted that about 90% of these patients had not received the JN.1 vaccine. Meanwhile, vaccine uptake is improving. Authorities administered 69,000 doses of the JN.1 vaccine, representing a 1.7-fold increase compared to the previous week’s 41,000 doses.
