Bulgaria and Mongolia Seek to Strengthen Economic Ties in Key Sectors

Bulgaria’s Economy and Industry Minister, Petar Dilov, met with Mongolia’s Ambassador Sayanaa Lkhagvasuren to explore ways of enhancing bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both officials discussed key sectors with potential for expanded collaboration, including mining, agriculture, food industry, trade, transportation, and small-to-medium enterprise partnerships.

Minister Dilov stressed that current economic interactions fall short of the true potential given the excellent political relationship between Bulgaria and Mongolia. He affirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to furthering economic ties and supporting deeper cooperation between Mongolia and the European Union.

Ambassador Lkhagvasuren acknowledged Bulgaria’s strategic importance as a gateway for Mongolian trade with European markets, underlining opportunities for growth and partnership.

The discussion also emphasized the significance of the Mongolian-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, recognized as a vital tool for identifying specific actions to enhance bilateral economic relations. Both sides considered holding the next session of this commission in 2025.
