Stronger Mongolia-Iceland cooperation took a major step forward during an official visit to Reykjavik on May 2-3, 2025.
Mongolia’s Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh traveled to Iceland at the invitation of her Icelandic counterpart, Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir. This visit marked the first time a Mongolian foreign minister visited Iceland.
The two foreign ministers held formal discussions on May 2, 2025, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations. They highlighted their countries’ friendship, grounded in mutual trust, democracy, and human rights.
