Mongolia Shines with Five Medals at Dushanbe Grand Slam

Mongolian judokas dominate the international stage after winning five medals at the 2025 Judo Grand Slam in Dushanbe. The competition, held from May 2 to 5 in Tajikistan, marked the fifth round of the Grand Slam series organized by the International Judo Federation.

Seventeen athletes represented Mongolia under the guidance of national coaches M. Bundmaa and Ch. Boldbaatar. The team finished fourth overall, securing two gold medals, one silver, and two bronze.

In the women’s 48 kg division, J. Anudari captured her first Grand Slam gold medal. B. Gankhaich won gold in the 63 kg category, achieving her first Grand Slam title and sixth overall international medal. She had previously earned bronze at the Paris Grand Slam in February 2024 and silver at the Asian Championships. After recovering from injury and missing over a year of competition, she returned to claim a powerful victory.

In the men’s 73 kg weight class, B. Erdenebayar earned a silver medal. With this achievement, he now holds a complete set of Grand Slam medals.

E. Ariunbold added to the tally with a bronze in the men’s 60 kg division. On the tournament’s final day, D. Nominzul secured another bronze in the women’s +78 kg category. This marked her second career Grand Slam medal, having previously medaled in Ulaanbaatar.

Mongolian judokas dominate with their resilience, strategy, and determination. Their continued success highlights the strength of Mongolia’s judo program.

With momentum on their side, the team now prepares for the next Grand Slam in Kazakhstan. Mongolian judokas dominate wherever they compete, and fans expect more wins ahead.
